Teaching
I have taught across a diverse range of educational contexts — from an inner-city middle school in Memphis, Tennessee, where I taught 6th-grade science at Grizzlies Preparatory Charter School while earning my Master of Education, to universities in the United States and Australia. My early teaching experiences in Memphis shaped my commitment to inclusive, student-centred pedagogy that supports both academic growth and a strong sense of belonging.
I have over five years of university-level teaching experience, having held teaching roles at Austin Peay State University, University of Canberra, and University of Melbourne. My teaching philosophy combines active learning, real-world application, and inclusive practice, aiming to empower students to think critically and apply their knowledge beyond the classroom. I draw on my interdisciplinary background in ecology, physiology, and conservation to create engaging, research-informed learning environments.
